Although 10.4Fx will tell you when an update is available, you must download updates manually at this time.TenFourFox is a simple, clean and intuitive Mac OS X application that enables you to enjoy the latest technologies implemented in web browsers even when using a PowerPC Mac. Please use your system's crash logs if you are reporting a reproducible crash, or (if you are able) provide a gdb backtrace. Crash reporting is intentionally disabled to avoid polluting Mozilla's crash tracking system with our reports. Please note that Mac OS X Server is not supported currently. Personas and certain custom skins may hide the "traffic light" window buttons, but they are still present and will work if hovered over or clicked on (issue 247). A fallback font will be used in their place. Bitmap-only fonts (usually Type 1 PostScript) cannot be used by the 10.4Fx font renderer and are automatically ignored by the browser. TenFourFox uses a lighter chrome for windows and dialogue boxes than prior versions or the official Mac Firefox. See PluginsNoLongerSupported for an explanation and suggested workarounds. Plugins on PowerPC are of special concern because Mozilla is making updates to their plugin architecture which may require the plugins themselves to be updated, and there are certain difficult-to-correct bugs with them already on Tiger. Sites will now act as if no plugins were installed at all. TenFourFox no longer supports plugins or FlashĪs of the previous TenFourFox 6.0, for the following reasons plugin support ships disabled. You can continue to use add-ons compatible with the same version of Firefox in TenFourFox in most cases. The add-ons it does not support are those that contain native Intel code, or, on Tiger Macs (OS X 10.4), add-ons that contain native code that requires Leopard. 
TenFourFox is a fast, efficient Web browser always based on the current version of Firefox, but unlike the main distribution TenFourFox is compatible with OS X 10.4 and 10.5 running on PowerPC processors. You can read more in the Wiki entry WhichVersion. On the G4 Mac open the Terminal app (in Applications -> Utilities) and type the command machine and press return. If you feel unsure what type of PowerPC processor your Mac has, go to the Apple menu and choose "About this Mac" and check the processor field.
